Sexually transmitted diseases (also referred to venereal diseases) are infectious diseases that are transmitted through sexual contact. There is no background or age of guys and girls who are not affected by STDs who are having sex, it has no regard for socio-economic status.

Unfortunately, getting sexually trasmitted diseases is now a common teen-age occurence. Since teen-agers have increased risk for transmitting and obtaining sexually transmitted diseases, it's important to learn how to sufficiently protect yourself.

STDs are more than just an embarrassment. They're a serious health problem. If untreated, some STDs can cause permanent damage, such as infertility (the inability to have a baby) and even death (in the case of AIDS).
